Molecular Dynamics (Interactive)
Select a phase to explore atomic motion. In the Crystal Lattice, atoms oscillate about fixed lattice sites (vibration increases with temperature slider). In the Gas, atoms move freely and collide elastically inside the container. Two initial colors mix over time, illustrating diffusion.
Raise temperature to see larger vibrations (solid) or faster random motion (gas). Lower it to approach an ordered, almost frozen state. Use additional sliders to experiment with inter-atomic force strength, repulsive potential, collision radius, kinetic energy multiplier, and friction (velocity decay). Enable Persistent to prevent the force simulation from cooling (lets motion continue indefinitely).
