Drive Wheel Driven Wheel Pin Blocking Disc Base Plate Shafts

How it works:
The drive wheel rotates continuously. Its pin engages one of the driven wheel's radial slots, advancing it by exactly 360°/n (where n = number of slots). The blocking disc (crescent on the drive wheel) locks the driven wheel between steps, preventing drift.
